healing and muscle growth, potentially expediting the recuperation of muscle fibres and their constituent cells.
This peptide is a man-made version of Thymosin Beta 4, a peptide that naturally exists in virtually all human and animal cells. Thymosin Beta 4 belongs to a family of 16 closely related molecules, sharing highly conserved sequences and widespread distribution within bodily tissues and circulating cells. TB-500 not only binds to actin but also hinders actin polymerisation, functioning as the actin-sequestering agent in eukaryotic cells.
TB-500 was identified as a gene that experiences a four-to-six-fold up regulation during the initial stages of blood vessel formation, and it has been observed to stimulate the generation of new blood cells from existing vessels. Given its presence in wound fluid, when administered subcutaneously, TB-500 fosters wound healing, muscle development, and accelerates muscle recovery.
Additionally, TB-500 stimulates cell migration through a specific interaction with actin in the cellular cytoskeleton. It has been shown that a specific central amino acid region with strong actin-binding properties possesses attributes conducive to blood cell production and wound healing. These properties are unveiled by expediting the migration of endothelial cells and keratinocytes while also enhancing the production of enzymes that break down the extracellular matrix.
